Quixote Corporation is a leading domestic provider of highway advisory radio (HAR) systems through its subsidiary, Highway Information Systems, Inc. HAR systems use dedicated low power AM radio transmitters to deliver advice to motorists, including information on traffic and weather conditions, construction delays, alternate routes or emergency services. Through the use of flashing lights and message signs, motorists are warned of potential problems and instructed to tune to the dedicated radio band for further information.
